State Quarter Ring

State Quarter Rings are hand forged from Silver State Quarters direct from the US Mint. These double sided silver coin rings are available in Sizes 6 to 11 with a 6-8mm band width. The State name and accompanying artwork found on the Tails side of the coin appear on the outer band and the words “United States of America” “Quarter Dollar” appear on the inner band. These are made from 90% Silver Proof Coins – for comparison, Sterling Silver is 92.5% Silver so the properties are very similar.

Launched in 1999, the United States Mint’s 50 State Quarters Program was a 10-year initiative that honored each of the nation’s states in the order that they ratified the Constitution or were admitted into the Union. Each quarter was produced for about 10 weeks, all in the same year, and will never be produced again.

These Quarter Rings are made from Silver Proofs from the US Mint and are commemorative. The ring is forged in fire and is finished with a smoky patina to enhance the appearance of each State’s artistic rendering or with a high polish that shows off the shine of the silver. The entire ring is then cleaned and polished before a jewelers wax is applied. As with any Silver, tarnish may occur or the patina may wear off if care is not taken. The ring can be polished like any Silver Jewelry.

Please note that the antique polish isn’t completely permanent – it will wear over time to a patina unique to you. Also, the oxidizing is not a true black, more of a very dark grey. Variations in computer monitors may affect the shade you see.
